Turkish lentil soup is flavour-packed dish. And it is super easy to prepare and cook. I use Philips All-In-One cooker, and my family loves this delicious lentil soup.
Note: This portion size is for 5 people, change the quantities as needed.
- 2 Big chopped onions
- 2 Cups of lentil
- 3 Shredded medium potatoes
- 5 Shredded carrots
- 1 Garlic bulb
- 3 Medium chopped tomatoes
- Dash of dried or fresh mint
- Chilli pepper
Put some olive oil in the inner pot and press SAUTE/SEAR HIGH TEMP button, set cooking time for 8 minutes and press START, do not close the lid.
Add one at a time, starting from onions, garlic then lentil, potatoes, carrots and lastly tomatoes. stir occasionally to combine and until lightly browned. Then add the seasonings and stir.
Add about 3 cups of water, stir to combine then close the lid, select the Soup program in PRESSURE COOKING. set valve to "Seal" position then Press START.
Leave the cooker to do the job for you while you juggle other daily tasks. Turn pressure regulation to VENT to allow the pressure to release, or allow pressure to release naturally.
Serve & Enjoy
Serve with Lemon and Toast or Turkish Pide.
